ARCH 1101 EXP3 MashUp
A building should appear to grow easily from its site and be shaped to harmonise with its surroundings if Nature is manifest there. The good building is not one that hurts the landscape, but one which makes the landscape more beautiful than it was before the building was built.
Studying the foldability of structures- how through advanced engineering structures could move and transform themselves is the way to achieve but architecture is life, or at least it is life itself taking form and therefore it is the truest record of life as it was lived in the world yesterday, as it is lived today or ever will be lived.
It involves a respect for the properties of the materials—you don’t twist steel into a flower—and a respect for the harmonious relationship between the form/design and the function of the building. It is also an attempt to integrate the spaces into a coherent whole using new ways: a marriage between the site and the structure and a union between the context and the structure. However we ought to go beyond the surface, the design element, and touch upon the reality. Using Engineering to explore the structure and advances in technology and new materials comes from Arch computing, we can slowly expand the boundaries of what could be made so revolutionary possibilities had emerged for a new kind of architecture.

ARCH1101 EXP 2 Final Submission
Electroliquid Aggregation: Reviving the neglected in a functional way.
Quotes:
*A good building can maintain the continuity of the city's culture.
*By time buildings do not perform only as a shelter or other pure functional roles. They evolves into a complex system which carry he meanings of the city's culture sometimes even the spirit of art.*In this case I use the culture of 'modernism'.
*City's skyline is its culture's perfect expression.
The final model of SketchUp is put between cliffs of the river at a channel
Originally inspired by Goldberg's idea, the platform along with a spiral stair provides the link between the two parts. The curvy one on the top shows cleanness which is one of the aspects of the culture -- 'Modernism'.
Light texture is used as pavement surface because the cleanness reflects the outcome of adapting the meaning of culture to buildings.
This night view demonstrates how Goldberg's cultural idea and Gang's functional ways collide with spark at the platform(Spiral stair) which is specially highlighted. The dark texture painted on the wall of lower parts can be seen from this view.
Seeing form inside the building is the way to feel both cultural and functional significance of the building. This night view demonstrates how Goldberg's cultural idea and Gang's functional ways collide with spark at the platform(Spiral stair) which is specially highlighted.
Staircases is both functional, clean and easy to use at the same time.

36 Textures: Light to Dark
The reason Light textures are in the centre is that I want to bring two kinds of textures together where I believe they stand for stiff&functional and cultural feature of a building.
